Through the keyhole...peek in my 'studio'

...well not literally 'through the keyhole' because there isn't even a door on the spot where the photo is taken (on top of the stairs) but a peek into my 'new' studio/craft room anyway. The make-over of my craft room is nearly finished, the wall on the right will get a lovely warm red cherry blossom patterned wall paper....eventually... and I definitely need 'something' on the wall above my sewing table! The fabric cupboard needs some serious sorting and the scrap baskets (beneath the sewing table) are overflowing. The inspiration shelfs on the other hand (on the left) are still quite empty...But all in all I'm very happy with the alterations so far. I love my new white laminate floor and the extra table (for drawing and writing) was much needed. What I'm not showing is the (overflowing) 'to iron' basket and all the tools my husband conveniently left in the room 'because it's not quite finished yet' ;)

  1. Wow, it's lovely, you should see my craft area, it's at the end of my bed and so crammed at the moment I literally can't get into it. I really need to use my sewing machine but will have to do some housework first so I can get to my sewing machine :(

    1. My craft area was also in one corner of the bedroom actually. We have now divided the room (with a wall) into two separate areas, much better now! It was a rather large room though. All my embroidery stuff is in the living room and needs some serious sorting through as well...:)

  2. oh, it looks so bright, open and cheery ~ I've got this little tiny area to work in and I can get terribly messy ~ but I love it!
Looking forward to seeing your cherry blossom wall!

    1. thank you :) I make a terribly mess of my craft area too sometimes (read: most of the time)! The wall paper was delivered last week, so I hope that it will be up on the wall soon!

  3. I like your studio. I haven't got one myself. I have little piles here and a bit of a shelf there and a table sort of cleared sometimes. :o)

    1. I have to admit that besides this craft area (which is mainly sewing/drawing/writing) I have embroidery stuff everywhere in my living room!

    1. It's not small but not too big either... just right! Mind I also have to share the room with a huge laundry basket and ironing board (not pictured)....

  7. It looks very peaceful, just what you need. I am busy sorting out my own room at the moment too, I was hoping that it would be finished this weekend but the bookshelves have been measured wrong and need to be redone. This has made me quite sad as I desperately want to get it finished. I love you're blog, I very much need to improve on my embroidery skills but I am very much a new starter.

  8. I am always trying to improve my embroidery too and trying to learn new stitches, it doesn't matter whether you have just begun stitching or have some years 'under the belt' there is always room for improvement! Happy Stitching :)
