From my sketchbook
For some reason I always end up sketching bears and hedgehogs and other critters but not today...(although there *is* a little reluctant bear lurking there on the left side of the sketch) I'd like to think that this is a little brave girl going on an enormously exciting (and perhaps slightly scary) adventure that involves meeting talkative squirrels and lonely sailor bears. And a happy end of course! I must admit that the thing she's holding there was supposed to be a torch but it looks more like a flower bud and I possibly even like that more than the initial torch-idea! Imagine petals falling off as they go, to leave a trail so they can find their way home...

This is such a pretty sketch Nicole. I'm sure it would look lovely stitched up in a cute little embroidery! PS I thought it was a torch, not a flower, but the flower idea is very sweet x
ReplyDeleteShe is sweet and I thought it looked like a torch she was holding. I thought she looked like she was exploring a cool cave for cute little critters.
ReplyDeleteI thought torch at first, and then hmmm, maybe it's a flower. :-) I love her hair! She looks a little more grown up than the girls you usually draw.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the above comments. Cute girl and I saw a torch as well. A flower dropping petals along the way is a cute idea as well. Wish I could draw. At least I can embroidery. hehe.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous! I wish I could draw, this little girl is so cute.
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet. You have a beautiful imagination, I love the bit about the petals falling from the torch flames!
