Thumbelina & the Swallow

thumbelina

Today I started the Thumbelina & Swallow water colour painting for the online Children's book Illustration class I enrolled in via Skillshare a few months ago. It's far from finished and possibly not the definitive version but I thought I'd share it here with you. The idea is that if the illustration would be actually printed in a book it would be spread on 2 pages and there would be text in the top half of the left page. Obviously I'm also thinking of making this into an embroidery pattern (in a slightly adapted form). :)

p.s. There are lots of interesting, not too expensive, design classes on Skillshare and if you follow my link you should get a 10$ discount on your first course (and I will get a 10$ credit which I will use to enroll in another class, yay!)

  1. Nicole ~ this little painting is so sweet and love that you'll be doing it as embroidered piece too!

    1. Thank you! The embroidery/pattern will not be made in the short term though. I have a few other things to finish first! :)
