Fabulous and Flossy (and a giveaway too)
While I'm normally more of a 'cat' person, I'm smitten with Flossy the Dachshund! He's an excellent helper when it comes to holding half used skeins of embroidery floss. Flossy the Dachshund was sent to me by Missy of Shoppe Sugar Cookie along with Flossy the Sheep (see photo below). Both are absolutely adorable and it's a shame that I can't store my whole floss collection on Flossy Animals. Missy has lots of other Flossy animals as well in her shop including bunnies!
I'm so tempted to keep both the Flossy Animals but I promised I'd share one of these with you. So Flossy the Sheep is looking for a new home and the good news is that you don't have to have a farm or land to take care of Flossy. Just feed her some thread (or even twine) from time to time and keep her with your other embroidery supplies. I will throw in some floss and possibly other stuff in the envelope as well to make a neat little package for one embroidery-loving winner!
Simply leave a comment on this blog post before Monday the 11th of August, noon (Amsterdam Time) if you want to have a chance of winning Flossy the Sheep (and some other stuff) and let me know why you love embroidery. :) Be sure to leave a 'trail' (e-mail, link to blog, twitter etc) so I can track you down in case you are the lucky winner.... Good luck everyone!

Well, who wouldn't want to win Flossie the sheep? She's adorable. I've been embroidering for so long, it's just part of who I am. It's soothing & is part of my day's "me time." Thank you for this opportunity. My email is brenoreo@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteFlossie the sheep is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI'm recovering from pneumonia so lots of rest - embroidery has been a life saver !
I love these little flossies! Have seen them around blogland & would love to have one. Embroidery has always kept my hands busy, since I was a little girl. Back then I think Mom used it to help me sit still! these days it is handy to take along to medical appointments & other "waiting" places
ReplyDeleteО! Это потрясающе красиво и полезно!
ReplyDeleteЯ бы с огромным удовольствием поселила животное у себя)
Люблю ваш блог и такие поддавки!

I've seen these lovely wooden animals some time ago and immediately felt in love.So of course I'd like to win the sheep. :)
ReplyDeleteThe reason why I like embroidery is that for me is like drawing, but with needles and thread instead of pencils. I usually embroider without a pattern, so I "draw" my works on the fabric like I do with pencils and paper.
What a cutie. I'd have to hide her from my girls. Embroidery is great for when you want to make / have busy hands but also be social
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely sheep!!! My father in law has some goats, not sheeps ;) I start with cross stitching when I was six, my mum taught me, now I try to combine sewing, cross-stitching, embroidery and no time sigh...
ReplyDeleteWell, these are just soooo cute!!! I love the dimension and satininess of embroidery. Thanks for the chance!!
ReplyDeleteI love the little sheepie, thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your generosity in giving Flossy the sheep away. So cute, and useful.
ReplyDeleteThey are great! I could do with one of those, my threads are always jumbled together. I love embroidery because it's so therapeutic and it's been really good for me recently as my health has been bad. I love the versatility too, there are so many possibilities of things to be created.
ReplyDeleteFlossy the sheep is so cute. I love to embroider as it's a great way to personalise and embellish things. I don't do it enough and all of my threads are always in a terrible jumble but I hope that Flossy will help me with that. Thank you so much for a fantastic giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI love the dachshund Flossy. I've had 3; Pojo, Stuben and Woody. I like embroidery because it's portable. It keeps me crafty on the go. G Fahrion at comcast dot net.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely charming! Thread winders are great; however, these are functional and FUN -- I'd use it all the time. I tend to be a messy stitcher. I enjoy needlework because it is a calming end to a [usually] chaotic day!
ReplyDeleteI would love this!!! Of course then I'd have to decide which floss was lucky enough to be wound around it....
ReplyDeleteOh, she's just so adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love to embroider because it's like painting, without all the mess!

:o)
Super cute! One reason I like embroidery is that I love the feel of the materials and floss. I'm really attracted to all of the fabric and wooly arts, but embroidery is the one that I have been successful at. atgbooks@q.com
ReplyDeleteI love embroidery as the 'writing' style of it is way neater than my handwriting! Maybe I should embroider letters to my penpals rather than write them!
ReplyDeleteI love to embroider. I started when I was about 7 for a Girl Scout project. I remember just drawing stick figure flowers and making a row of them across fabric that I later turned into a small coin purse. I'm glad it's making a big comeback. I'm doing redwork and bluework now.
ReplyDeletePick me pick me. So cute and I have tons of errant floss. Yay, for lovely useful things.
ReplyDeleteI love it for a lot of reasons, but I love the easy pick up put down aspect of it the best. It's saved my sanity through plenty of doctors offices and plane flights and sunny days where I wanted to craft on the porch and not sit at the sewing machine!
ReplyDeleteSuch a darling sheep to hold floss!
ReplyDeleteI love to embroider ~ it's very calming and you can take it with you to keep yourself occupied in while waiting!
Thanks for the sweet giveaway!
Wow, I just love these. I love embroidery because it makes me feel connected to the women of long ago. Like in pride and prejudice :)
ReplyDeleteI'd be quite delighted to add the sheep to my bag of work. I have been enjoying your blog quite a bit. Thank you for sharing with all of us. Katherine dillender@me.com
ReplyDeleteI've seen these on Etsy and I absolutely love them! My only problem is that I wouldn't just want a few, I would want hundreds to store my whole collection! So cute!
ReplyDeleteOh, and to answer the question, I love embroidery because I just love creating with thread! There's something so fun about taking something so simple, a needle and thread and fabric, and creating a beautiful picture. I love all the colors available and how portable it is too!
DeleteWhat a cute little sheep, I'd love to have her to wind some threads onto. Love embroidery because it's so portable & very relaxing. lyn.robyn.smith@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteLove Flossie the sheep. I'd be very happy to wind some floss around her. I really enjoy embroidery because it is so relaxing and because it allows you to be sociable while creating something beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy embroidery because it's like drawing with lots of pretty threads
