Another Love Bird
As my proper drawing and art supplies are right at the bottom of a 3 meter high stack of boxes and my scanner hasn't been found yet there is no progress on my Pattern making activities. Maybe if I started unpacking boxes and stopped blogging (read: moaning) about all the things I can't find the problem would soon be solved. I did find the Art Deco Polar Bear and the Garlic press by the way. Anyway last night I started a little project to keep my hands busy. It's another awesome Sublime Stitching pattern (by Carson Ellis this time) which I transferred on an old T-shirt. The T-shirt had a stain so I was going to throw it out but I thought why not try to embroider it and make it The Most Awesome T-shirt Ever! It's quite difficult to embroider on this fabric (even with stabliser) so I only use a simple back stitch here. The banner says Love in Russian by the way. At least that's what Amy told me and I totally believe her of course! Check out her lovely version of this pattern!

This is going to be beautiful! I hated stitching on t-shirt material, no plans to do it again soon. You're stitches are looking great though, maybe you're a little more patient than I was!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you've chosen so far.
ReplyDeleteIMO, t-shirt fabric is pure evil for embroidering onto!! I've done it several times, and each time vow never to do it again LOL. Like you, I stick with a simple backstitch.
Good luck with the unpacking. That's the part of moving I enjoy the most -- it's the packing that I dislike ;-).
Ladies you are absolutely right about stitching on tshirt fabric, it is a nightmare! Right now I've got holes in my tee (and not in the right places) which I'm trying to fill up with a fill and mend kind of stitch. :O
ReplyDeletei totally love both yours and amys
ReplyDeletei wondered what that meant when i saw it on the website, thanks for telling me~
You are a brave woman! Embroider on a t-shirt- not me ever again. Cross-stitch isn't AS bad but applique works best for me on tees.
ReplyDeleteYour birdy is beautiful!
You are so daring to do t-shirt material embroidery. I did it once and said never, ever again. I was the one who need stabilizer or tranquilizers or something. :-D This looks very cute.
