Peek inside my sketchbook
Recently I bought some lovely stuff from TheBlackApple. (see lower picture) A print to hang in my new house next to this print I bought earlier this year. I love that creepy bunny! And a sketchbook in which I put sketches and little drawings of new ideas. (see picture above)
News from the StitchAlong front is that a) it was mentioned on Craftgossip earlier today and b) I finished my own StitchAlong! I shall post a nice mosaic on this blog from the Follow the White Bunny Pool, when a few more are finished!

Your sketches are gorgeous!! That top picture (the child on the bear) makes me think of the love between Lyra and Iorek from the The Golden Compass -- one of my favorite trilogies.
ReplyDeleteYou're the second one to make that connection! (other one was Glazedangel101 on my pic on Flickr)But no, as I haven't read the book and only seen about half of the film...I don't like making drawings of stuff I don't know. Maybe I should go and read them. Once I finished reading a lot of other books that is!
ReplyDeleteNicole, thanks for your sweet comment on my blog tonight. I am stitching away, still keeping busy!
ReplyDeleteI love your drawings! My sketchbook pages rarely look so neat and tidy. I really like Emily's artwork too and I have that very same sketchbook of hers. I seem to have sketchbooks everywhere, my daughter likes to dip into them too, it makes me smile to come across one of her pictures in the middle of my sketched pages.
your sketches are beautiful! i so wish i could draw more "life-like" as when i draw everything usually comes out silly ;)
ReplyDeletelove that teacup in the sea.....
love the sketches! i didn't catch the golden compass - for some reason i thought of red rose - is there even a bear in that?!
ReplyDeleteI don't know Red Rose but I do know Rose Red and Snow White) and there is certainly a bear in that story!
ReplyDeleteHi---I just found your blog via flickr and had to comment on your wonderful embroidery designs--- I love them! I'm an advid embroidery artist, too, so I very much enjoy seeing your sketches and your embroidery. Very inspirational!
ReplyDeleteLovely sketches, I really like them both ... I hope that if they don't become watercolor paintings then perhaps hand embroidery patterns !!! ;-D
